Explora Science Center
Explora is a science center and children’s museum filled with interactive experiences in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math. It is a learning place for people of all races, ages, genders, abilities and backgrounds. The museum has over 250 exhibits and also offers special events, seasonal camps, educational programs, and educator workshops.
Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails
Girls Scouts of New Mexico Trails (GSNMT) is part of the national Girl Scouts organization. Girl Scouts build girls of “courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.” These groups of girls, called “troops” hike, camp, learn, and volunteer together. Girl Scouts runs year long programs and summer camps.
The Jewish Community Center
The Jewish Community Center (JCC) is a recreational and community organization. The JCC provides opportunities for healthy lifestyles, educational opportunities, social events and programming, while having a strong focus on Jewish culture. The JCC offers access to a gym, pool, classes, and youth camps.
Mandy’s Farm
Mandy’s Farm is a nonprofit organization that assists individuals with developmental disabilities in achieving their goals for living, learning, and working in the community. Mandy’s Farm serves over 200 adults with developmental disabilities living in the Albuquerque metro area. 100% of those we serve are living below the federal poverty line. The services at Mandy’s Farm provide a lifeline to adults with developmental disabilities, allowing them to successfully participate in their community, obtain and retain employment, and reduce instances of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
New Mexico Volunteers for the Outdoors
New Mexico Volunteers for the Outdoors (NMVFO) is an all-volunteer organization that is dedicated to improving trails, outdoor facilities, and wildlife habitat on public lands throughout the state. NMVFO plans more than 30 volunteer projects each year. Volunteers often have opportunities to hike or camp as they work to enhance outdoor recreation opportunities and protect the environment.
Ronald McDonald House Charities
RMHC-NM provides comfort, care, and a “home-away-from-home” for families whose children are receiving medical treatment. Our guest rooms offer safe and comfortable spaces for families to rest and recharge together following long days at the hospital. To support our families, we provide home-cooked meals, play areas for children, transportation, and laundry facilities.
YMCA, Camp Shaver
The mission of the YMCA is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy mind, body, and spirit. The YMCA is a national organization. It works to support families in areas related to health and youth development. Camp Shaver is an overnight summer camp that takes place in the Jemez Mountains of New Mexico.
